November 6, 2017

“In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war.” – Warhammer 40K

Thinking about giving Warhammer 40K a try? The vast dystopian universe might seem intimidating at first—it is to most players. We think it’s well worth the time to learn how to play.

Here are a few reasons why.

At Game Goblins, located on Bowman road, we host Warhammer 40K Demo Day to encourage new players. Thinking of giving it a try? Find the next one on our events page: http://gamegoblins.com/events/ or visit our Facebook page here.

Important Things To Know

  • Warhammer 40K is more of a hobby than a tabletop game. This is mostly because of the world of custom, detailed miniatures you’ll create. You’ll also find yourself behind plenty of reading materials.
  • It’s not cheap. Just like any hobby, playing can be expensive. Before you invest too much of your pocket change, make sure you’ve caught an interest in the game. Make your investment slowly as you learn more about building your  armies.
  • You will need to devote time to learning the game. Take your time. The dystopian universe of is complex. Seasoned players are still learning. We encourage beginners to start small. You don’t need to know everything all at once. To play you need to learn how to do the basics: move, shoot, and assault.
  • You’ll spend a lot of time reading. Which makes it a perfect game/hobby for those who love reading.

Reason 1: It’s a great creative outlet.

Everyone needs a creative outlet that fits their creative talents. Think crafting might be your thing? Warhammer 40K can attract even the most novice of painters.

It’s also a great storytelling outlet. How would you survive this dystopian universe?

Reason 2: The game is fun to play.

Once you get comfortable with the rules, Warhammer 40K is a great tabletop game. It involves strategy and competition. Players must find themselves acting in the fantasy world to win.

Reason 3: Warhammer 40K has a community of players almost everywhere.

Like any tabletop game, Warhammer 40K is great for building community. At Game Goblins we host learning events and tournaments right here in West Little Rock.

That isn’t the only reason why the game encourages continual learning.

The Warhammer 40K universe is vast. There is so much to learn and explore. As a player, you’ll be able to participate at a basic level after some minimal training. The more you grow your knowledge, the more you’ll want to know about the universe.
